The Secretariat is a body of leaders elected from the Cursillo Movement which seeks to serve the ministry of the bishop and those of the cursillistas by planning and coordinating how the Cursillo Movement can fit into the diocesan pastoral plan. The proper functions of the Secretariat are:
1.       To promote the Cursillo Movement
2.       To maintain links with the National Cursillo ( BACC )
3.       To oversee the working of the Servant Community
4.       To establish policies and procedures which will assure an active Fourth Day
5.       To co-ordinate the campaign for Palanca
6.       To foster the spirit of the Group Reunion among the Cursillo community
Reflecting the “servant ministry” which Jesus taught us to fulfil is perhaps the basic key to all that the  Secretariat does.

THE SERVANT COMMUNITY
The work of the Cursillo Movement is the work of the whole church. The Servant Community is means of distributing that work as well a as a means of increasing the overall maturity of the Movement through its leaders. The Servant Community then is an essential element of any successful Diocesan Cursillo Movement. It is the cursillo community in action, working together, studying together and supporting each other in their service to the movement.
The Servant Community does its work through a number of committees or “groups”. Information and work flows between the Servant Community and the Secretariat through these groups, supporting each other. It is best envisaged as a wheel, with the Secretariat (hub) co-operating with several groups (spokes) to effect a smoothly running diocesan Cursillo movement! The Southwark Secretariat has been discussing ways of establishing a servant community, and proposes to set up the following “groups”, meeting probably three or four times a year, convened by members of the Secretariat:
