For most people their Cursillo experience begins with an invitation to attend a “Weekend Event”. The planning and preparation of a weekend often starts a year before it, by the Secretariat, then by those staffing, and then supported by the cursillistas. The weekend starts from a Thursday evening to a Sunday afternoon, and in those three days we worship we praise and we learn through talks, that are all based around Christian living. Cursillo does not end there, because the learning, praising, worship and support continues throughout our Christian lives in our reunions and Ultreya’s At Southwark we have had several of these weekends events and these are numbered consecutively, eg Southwark#1 was the first weekend and we are planning the 32nd weekend. Southwark #32. There are also a number of visual symbols which are historically connected with the Cursillo Movement. For example the butterfly is new creation, the rainbow God’s promise through creation, and the rooster is an old Spanish symbol of life
